This is the right place to see what we’re up to.
Saratoga Orchestra
The Saratoga Orchestra performed at WICA in January of 2015, with Anna Edwards conducting. They are awaiting a chance to edit and release the video, but here are some clips from a fine performance.
Orca research
These are orcas from the J pod of resident orcas in Haro Strait off the coast of San Juan Island. We are shooting today at the location of Ken Balcomb and the Whale Research Center. This shoot is kind of a double dip shooting on a project for members of the Cousteau family as well as a shared piece for The Weather Channel. This is a fine crew, and I am especially pleased to be working with Florian Graner of SeaLife Productions.
Cama Beach State Park
Cama Beach State Park in Washington State is a fabulous place to have a family vacation! It is right on the beach on Camano Island looking directly across at Whidbey Island. For more information watch the video and visit their webpage and definitely visit the park.
Demo Reel page added
The demo reel portfolio is, for now, a public space and no password is needed. If you need password for a specific piece then contact me and I’ll make arrangements.
Content Marketing Retreat 2013
I was pleased to attend and provide video services for the 3rd annual Content Marketing Retreat in Langley, WA, focusing on strategic video storytelling and hosted by The Langley Center for New Media and FusionSpark Media. Right after the event we were pleased to produce a short video for John Gauntt of Media Dojo about the content of the two day retreat.
The tough thing about “shooting a quick video” is that there is no such thing. Even just sitting at a table on the front porch of a pub takes a little love and kindness to make it something worth watching. I let them sit and have their talk while a production assistant made sure beer glasses stayed full, the boom operator did his job in a tight space, the additional lighting stayed in place, and the camera operator worked the angles. Then the post-production kicked in so that they could have the video ready for the conference call.
This is all just to underline what it really takes to start bumping your content up a notch or two, and why your dollars are worth spending on professionals.
New Streaming Service
Stone Knot Studios has partnered with a leading online delivery platform to provide first class content delivery for clients. This will also make it possible to make previously unavailable feature content available for paid viewing.
It’s Not Easy Being Green
Nymbol has been working on some new content and is dabbling in chroma key techniques this week.
Fixed website redirection
The old website for Narrow Lane Media was redirected to this location last week. A configuration error prevented old links from following correctly and has been fixed. The old site information should now be accessible, including all older client links. Sorry for the inconvenience. Google forgive me.
Narrow Lane Media
Narrow Lane Media has now been fully absorbed by Stone Knot Studios, and www.narrowlanemedia.com will fully redirect here fairly soon. If you landed here looking for any of the past work done by Narrow Lane Media then use the contact form and get in touch. See the note on DVD sales if you’re looking to purchase any product. I still have several copies of “50 Years of Northern Light” available.
DVD sales issues
The online resale channel I was using to sell DVDs has been consumed by another service that doesn’t seem to have its act together, even a year on from the announcement. I am handling DVD sales personally, which is going well, so get in touch via the contact form and let me know what you would like. There are currently no digital downloadable versions for any of the products.
Website going live soon
The website should be going live and open to the public in a couple of weeks. It always takes a little time to get all the corners looking right so if you are browsing here and find something wrong please use the contact form to let me know. Thanks!
